The training is designed to empower university staff with the requisite knowledge and skills to effectively integrate COIL into their academic programmes. By participating in these COIL training sessions, you will have the opportunity to enhance your global engagement efforts, expand network of international collaborators, and enrich the educational experiences of your students through meaningful cross-cultural exchange.
Target audience: Ukrainian and British academics who are already working together or have an intention to create a joint COIL project
Participation requirement: Applicants must apply together with a partner and indicate their name in the registration form (Both partners should submit separate registration forms). Participants should either already be collaborating in other areas and wish to expand into a COIL project, or be planning to work together on a COIL initiative. As part of the course, participants will work together to develop a COIL project that will strengthen their international cooperation.
Please note that participation in this training requires attendees to be actively engaged in teaching roles. As such, we kindly ask only individuals currently involved in teaching sign up for this training.
Training schedule:
Session 1: Demystifying COIL and its relations to internationalisation (14th of November at 1 pm UK/3 pm UA time)
Session 2: Intended Internationalised Learning Outcomes & the intercultural perspective (21st of November at 1 pm UK/3 pm UA time)
Session 3: Collaboration and Technology (28th of November at 1 pm UK/3 pm UA time)
Session 4: Reflection, Evaluation and next steps (5th of December at 1 pm UK/3 pm UA time)
Session 5 (optional): Embedding and supporting COIL in the institution (12th of December at 1 pm UK/3 pm UA time)
Duration: Each session will last 120 mins, including interactive component in break-out rooms and a 15-minute coffee break

To secure your spot, please fill in this form by 9 am UK time on the 23rd of October. We expect participants' active interaction both during and post sessions as there will be some homework, so please make sure your schedules allow this.
