Dual Degree Programme
Since its inception in March 2022, the Twinning Initiative has served as a dynamic platform fostering transformative partnerships with Ukrainian and international universities. Among its many impactful endeavours, the development of dual degree programmes between Ukrainian and British institutions has emerged as a key milestone. These programmes aim to enhance educational opportunities in Ukraine while equipping the next generation with vital skills to contribute to the nation’s resilience and rebuilding post war.
The dual degree pilot project, launched in December 2022 with the support of the Ukrainian Ministry of Education and Science, the President’s Fund for Education, Science, and Sport and Mosaik Education, was an ambitious response to extraordinary circumstances. Designed amidst the ongoing challenges of war, the initiative sought to prove that innovation in education could flourish even under the most demanding conditions.
In 2022 six university partnterships were selected to pioneer this effort, tasked with designing programmes tailored to meet Ukraine’s urgent need for rebuilding expertise.
The programme's expansion continued with the 2024 Double Degree Programme Grant. This second call for partnerships has selected four additional university pairs to develop additional dual degree programmes.
These partnerships reflect a growing commitment to fostering international collaboration, sharing expertise, and broadening access to high-quality education for more students.
