Dual Degree programme
Since its inception in March 2022, the Twinning Initiative has become an umbrella for a huge number of great individual projects between Twinned universities. Development of dual degree pilot programmes between Ukrainian and British institutions has become one of them which we believe will not only enhance education in Ukraine but will also contribute to the resilience and growth of Ukrainian society as well as will become one of the anchors for the country’s rebuilding.
Launched with the support of Mosaik and the President’s Fund for education, science and sport in December 2022, the pilot project aimed to test the viability of developing dual degree programmes in an extremely tight timescale and conditions, given the ongoing warfare in Ukraine. A select group of 6 universities were chosen to pioneer this initiative, developing innovative programmes that would give necessary for the Ukraine’s rebuilding skills.

All universities have done an exceptional job as all 6 programmes were launched in September 2023, having enrolled 112 students in total.
To celebrate the success the Twinned pairs demonstrated and to exchange experience, Cormack Consultancy Group with the support of the President’s Fund for Education, Science and Sports organised an in-person event for the representatives of the Ukrainian institutions involved into the project and the Ministry of Education and Science in Ukraine.
The universities keep working on their dual degree programmes. The Ukrainian counterparts are currently undergoing the international accreditation process and preparing applications for additional funding support for the second student intake.
